DENTAL NURSE SUCCESSES

SUCCESSFUL DENTAL NURSES

SmileWisdom Alumni celebrates Moshe

Meet Moshe, who wanted to further explore Dentistry through working as a dental nurse, before committing to 5 years of studying to become a dentist.

“I decided to take the dental nursing course because I wanted to be a dentist. However, before committing myself to 5 years of studying in university, I thought I would see what the dental profession was like, what it was like to work in a dental practice, the dynamic and the every day life of working in Dentistry.

So I did some research online to find a place I could do a dental nursing course. I found the website and spoke to Becky. She was very helpful and good at answering all my questions. Everything was explained clearly and I decided to sign up. During my time on the course, the SmileWisdom team were always so responsive and quick to help which I appreciated.

“My advice is to start your ROE as soon as possible, get a reliable witness (another dental nurse may be more available than a dentist), work hard! Don’t forget to revise and do not leave it to the last minute!”

I attended my first class at the British Dental Association in Wimpole Street. The education style was good and I found it easy to learn. My tutor was Perminder and she was really good. When the pandemic happened and we could no longer have classes in person, SmileWisdom were quick to set up an online learning platform. The SmileWisdom team were really supportive during this time, I even had extra classes with Perminder and Liz who are are both great tutors. It was so helpful

I was able to get a trainee dental nurse job myself as I knew someone who owned a dental practice, but I know SmileWisdom offer a lot of job support as well. I discovered that managing your time to study and time to work is really important. You have to find that balance to make it work, because revising is really important.

I had a great experience studying with SmileWisdom and would definitely recommend it to others! Since finishing I have also been able to do an Access course and now I am applying for Dentistry as well as Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
