SUCCESSFUL DENTAL NURSES

SmileWisdom Alumni celebrates Cindy, an overseas dentist

Meet Cindy, who is an overseas dentist who is passionate about dentistry so decided to find a perfect course to allow her to continue working in the profession she loves

Although Cindy is a qualified dentist in her country her qualifications are not valid in the UK so she made the decision to work as a dental nurse whilst getting her Uk dental qualifications.
“When I started looking for where to study dental nursing I found 2 other places before SmileWisdom. I went to see them but didn’t like how they were doing their admissions process. But when I met Liz and Mike from SmileWisdom Academy I loved how they were and I signed up.

Liz was an amazing tutor and the group I studied with were so nice. I am still in touch with them to this day. Going to lessons was so much fun and never boring. I was supported to find a job and was offered a job at my first interview!

It is important not to be scared to start over again, whether it is a new career or the same career. Take baby steps and keep progressing. I am so happy enjoying every part of the process.

Even though I am an overseas dentist I had to learn all the terms in a new language, so I studied a lot and was so prepared for the exam. I finished in 2019 and am a qualified dental nurse working in a dental practice I love with a team that is like my family.

My advice to any overseas dentist is that it is worth it to become a dental nurse in the UK. It is good to adapt and learn. It is a way to stay working in dentistry and you meet so many people who will support and encourage you. Now I have mentors who support me and my career progression.

It is important not to be scared to start over again, whether it is a new career or the same career. Take baby steps and keep progressing. I am so happy enjoying every part of the process.

I would recommend SmileWisdom without a doubt! You have to be confident in the place you study and I would do everything the same again if I had to do it over”.
